Biograd as Croatian town stands out from the 10th to the 12th century, when it was crowned in 1102, the Croatian-Hungarian king Koloman. He had a very turbulent history and has gone through various phases and the reign of the 13th and 14th century, it is governed by Cetina princes, Bribir dukes Subic and Vrana Templars, and from the 15th until the end of the 18th century, Biograd was under Venetian rule.

When the city became the seat of the bishop, the Benedictine monastery of St. John was built, followed by the Monastery of St. Thomas. The remains of a Roman villa are preserved. The destinations were found remains of an ancient aqueduct. In the City Museum you can see the archaeological collections from prehistoric and early-Croatian finds, as well as some objects from the 16th century ship that sank in the vicinity of Biograd. During the summer months, "Biograd Summer" traditionally held. This includes events such as concerts, museum exhibitions, and various sports competitions.
